Threat Hero Notes

Vox Not a big threat in general. CannOT be used with CP, and only good WP when used correctly. I have found burst Vox to be the best in this update.
1
  No Threat
2
Adagio Just a low threat in general. 1.6 will likely boost him to be a more viable hero
2
Petal Really horrible until hopefully buffed in 1.6. I have seen a lot of CP Petal builds out there so be ready to counter.
3
Fortress Not a huge threat, can do major damage to your team as a tank due to its lethal wound ability.
4
Ardan Not a threat in damage, but a huge threat in supporting his team. It could be a good or bad thing to be caught in his gauntlet as the tank so always watch out!
4
Celeste If you are wondering why Celeste is so low, it's because you can counter build against her easier and quicker than any other hero. You can make her build an early broken myth by simply getting Aegis and fountain as your first 2 items. Then getting support items
4
Krul Easy to get out of 1 v 1 when vanguard. Build early crucible when against him.
4
Skaarf Still a big threat when CP, so be sure to get an early fountain and crucible.
5
Glaive One of the bigger threats you will encounter. His ability to knock someone away from your protection without a vanguard available, is something you cannot do anything about.
5
Joule A high threat when building WP or CP, her Thunderstrike when WP and ultimate and Jump when CP, can wreck your whole team. Build an early fountain for your team when against her.
5
Ringo Huge threat to whole team when used properly. Pay attention to their play style and build. Early metal jacket and atlas is preferred.
5
SAW CP builds are beast early game then slowly die off late game. WP, is best mid-late game. Be ready to counter both builds.
5
Taka One of the best heroes in the game. WP is beast mid-late game and CP, is good late game. Counter him early and build early shiversteel to slow him down.
6
Catherine Again, only a threat in CC and supporting team. Do the best possible to distract her from your team.
7
Koshka Arguably the highest threat in the whole game against any hero. Build an early aegis against her.
8
  No Threat

About Ardan Top

Ardan is a very tanky hero who can save lives, split carries and tanks, and be a boss. He is a protector so you want to counter build all of your enemies and build support items to support you whole team. DON'T BE SELFISH!!! Dont build an Aegis when you can get a fountain. Same thing with Metal Jacket and Atlas.

Always focus on keeping your team alive, and by doing that, you will also keep yourself alive too. Great teams start with a great tank.

Ability Build Top

Always overdrive Vanguard FIRST, and always max your ultimate. You want to be as much of a protector as possible. By overdriving Vanguard, you give you and your teammates more health when activated, and 30% vengeance so you can use blood for blood more often. By maxing blood for blood, you are showing that you need to deal more damage, instead of helping your team. But it may be a good idea to max Blood for Blood if your team is extremely lacking damage.

Item Path Top

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS START with Ironguard Contract so you can get your share of the farm. Just make sure you get the first hits and your ally gets the last hits.
You see that I started you off with a Metal Jacket OR Aegis, you only build ONE depending on who you are against.
Then you will try to go Contraption OR Warhorn. But you always need to ask yourself: Does my team need more vision and splash damage (AOE)? Or more speed and support? 90% of the time I get Warhorn simply because we are all used to it, but really Contraption CAN be the better item. You just always need to ask those questions.
After getting those 2 items, build your way to a fountain. We all know what it does so I don't really need to explain it.
Now you need to choose Shiversteel or Crucible. These are both selfish because of health, but have a HUGE support side to them. If the other team has stuns, go crucible. If not, try out shiversteel.
Now you CAN build an offensive counter item like aftershock or go with another fountain. DO NOT build Clockwork because you are wasting gold. Ardan doesn't use energy!!! If you want cool down, use aftershock.

Farming Top

Build Ironguard Contract and as usual, get first hits and let ally get last hits. Even if it means waiting 20 seconds for him to get out of the shop! Contraption is a risky farming item because it gives you this "splash damage" effect to it. Just make sure you rotate up to lane when laner goes down to shop, or when about to be ganked.

When to use abilities. Top

It is always good to use Vanguard for damage, but you should wait to save a teammate because it has a long cooldown.
Blood for Blood is usually for damage only, use toward an end of a fight so you can have some extra range. If you find yourself in the lane while laner is dead or shopping. You can poke by using blood for blood, then Vanguard right after to deal the most damage possible at one time.
When using Gauntlet, try to split up the tanks and the carries, NOT THE WHOLE TEAM!!! This needs lots of practice with Ardan to master, don't get upset if you can't do it for the first 10 games with Ardan. It took me almost 40 games and I still can't do it 40% of the time.

Conclusion Top

This about wraps up my first OFFICIAL guide. I really hoped you enjoyed it and helped your Ardan gameplay. It took me about 70ish minutes to complete. Please leave a comment of what you think of the guide, I take ALL CRITICISM, so feel free to say what you would like.
