  No Threat
2
Joule She can't get close to you so just poke. your stun is a nightmare for her, you can stun her when she lands her rocket leap, you can remove her thunder stacks and you can shut down her whole ult with your stun.
2
SAW You can kill him easily. Spam your Heliogenisis to bully him and when he gets low on health, stun him to remove his stacks and fire off some basic attacks. They will follow Saw even when he tries to run away with roadie run.
3
Petal She can outrange you, but you can easily erase her pets and Petel is naturally squishy, so try to stun her and she can be weared down quickly.
3
Skaarf He has to get close to get fan of the flames going. Bully him with heliogenisis and stun his ultimate. He is squishy just like you but you can outrange him.
4
Adagio In the early game, he can outrange you and annoy you with his burn, but when you get the overdrive on heliogenisis, you can poke him to death. Be sure to stun his ult when you get the chance!
4
Ardan The only real threat is his ultimate, which usually means death to you. Buy a reflex block instead of a lifespring. You might have to return back to base to heal more often without life regeneration, but you'd rather return back alive than dead.
5
Catherine Her silence is annoying, but with this build, you will be dealing most damage with basic attacking. The real threat is her stun, which can lock you down so you can be taken care of by Catherine's allies. Try to reflex block her stun and she can't do anything to you.
5
Celeste Mostly skill match-up. Your fountain of renewal gives pretty good shield so you have the advantage in most cases.
5
Krul He can easily kill you when you aren't careful, but you can just as easily kill him trough poking and kiting. Use heliogenisis in the bushes and reflex block his ultimate, then try to kite him.
6
Ringo He kills you very fast but you can poke him out of the lane. Buy a reflex block to block his ultimate and keep your distance at all times. When he is stunned, keep spamming basic attacks until he either dies or flees.
6
Vox 'It's so peaceful without Vox around'. Celeste says this for a reason, as Vox can kill you pretty easily. Stay close to turrets and spam heliogenisis. Your brother will usually win in a 1vs1 situation.
7
Glaive Glaive can kill you in a few hits and his afterburn is scary. Buy a reflex block and put heliogenisis in the bushes so you can see it coming. When he can't get close, you can just poke himl
8
Koshka Koshka will look for kills, and she will look at you first. Hug your turrets and cover the bushes in stars to see her coming. Try to stun her when she pounces you or when she uses her ult. Your slow makes her easier to catch for your teammates.
9
  No Threat
10
Taka He will find you, and he will kill you. A good taka can kill you in three seconds and leave like nothing happened. Heliogenisis ALL the brushes and stay close to teammates. stun him if you can.

Introduction Top

Celeste is an artillery mage that can deal massive area damage from afar. She is incredibly powerful but also incredibly squishy. Celeste always has to keep her distance, otherwise she might get killed.
I noticed that the Celeste builds on Vaingloryfire are all mostly the same so I wanted to create a build for Celeste that is a little different from many others.

This is my second build, so I'm still a bit new to making guides. Please comment with things to change or add to my guide to make it better. If you have any questions or anything else, please comment. Also, my English isn't really good, just so you know.

You might have noticed that I changed the build quiet a bit. After some more experimenting with this build, I found some items to be better than others so I changed the items. I also changed the guild to fit with the new items.

Why use this Build? Top

First of all, this build is very fun to use, I mean, killing a fleeing enemy hero who thinks he is safe behind his turret with dat perfectly aimed solar storm has got to be the most satisfying thing to do in vainglory (except for maybe killing the entire team at once with Adagio's ultimate). With this build, you can do something similar with your basic attack. Celeste has a very high attack speed with this build, so you can cast a lot of basic attacks in a short period of time. The main reason to use attack speed Celeste over someone like attack speed Ringo, is that Celeste's basic attack moves very slow and follows enemies. This means that your target is never save if you have cast some spells, not even behind their turrets. In other words, you don't often have to get into turret range to get kills. This build might not be the best on all teams (this build is really team dependent) but with teammates that have a stun or slow, Like Ardan, Catherine and Adagio, Celeste can deal a lot of damage without putting herself into too much risk.

Item and ability overview Top

Final Build

Journey Boots

Boots are a necessity on almost every build. They give more passive movement speed which saves time, some nice extra defenses and the activate is great for escaping or chasing. It's important for Celeste to get Travel Boots as soon as possible because if enemies can just outrun her, she can't use her basic attack on them.

alternating current gives you more attack speed and crystal power. It also scales with crystal power which pairs well with your heroic perk. After a shatterglass, your basic attack deals very high damage.

Eve of harvest gives you some much needed energy and energy regeneration, as well as some extra crystal power and a useful crystal lifesteal. The lifesteal works amazingly well with Celeste's heroic perk because she heals with basic attacks. And because you attack so fast, you gain a lot of health back with just basic attacking. This item keeps you alive.

Tornado Trigger

A Tornado Trigger gives Celeste a very high attack speed. Get an ally to stun an enemy, follow up with your own stun and keep on attacking while walking along with the enemy. The enemies will probably try to flee, but even when they do, you already have cast a lot of spells that follow enemies across the screen. They continually get hit by your attacks, even when they managed to get behind their turrets. It's insanely funny to see so many pink bolts flying around.

Shatterglass

This item just increases your damage significantly. It's only purpose is to give you raw power. You can get this item before crucible if you want, but you will die much faster. Be sure to have a good protector on the team when getting Shatterglass first.

Crystal Infusion

A crystal infusion powers up your attacks for a short period of time. Use this when you, for example, have the kraken, but aren't sure if you can win the game with her. The extra power and cooldown acceleration that a Crystal Infusion gives will help you push the lane and destroy enemy turrets.

Situational Items

Defensive Items

Depending on the enemy team, it's sometimes better to get a different defensive item. Against teams that focus on crystal power, you should get either an Aegis or a Fountain of Renewal. Against teams that focus on weapon power, get a Metal Jacket. Against mixed teams, you should get either a Fountain of Renewal or a Crucible.

Broken Myth

When the enemy team starts building a lot of shield, you should get a Broken Myth to not get completely walled. I suggest replacing either your alternating current or your defensive item with a Broken Myth. Only buy a Broken Myth when absolutely necessary, otherwise it's a wast of an item slot.

Abilities

Celeste's basic attacks scale with crystal power and reveal enemies.

Julia's light is basically alternating current's passive as an heroic perk. This means that crystal power makes your basic attack stronger. After you get a shatterglass, your basic attacks deal insane damage.

Heliogenesis

Celeste places a star on the selected location, dealing crystal damage in an area and granting vision. When Celeste places a star on an already existing star, it explodes, dealing even more crystal damage in a larger area.

This is your main ability to spam. It has incredible utility. Use it to poke enemy heroes and zone them out. Put them in brushes to gain vision. This ability is incredibly useful for clearing waves of minions, making Celeste one of the best laners in the game. I recommend getting it's overdrive as soon as possible to get more range on it.

Core Collapse

Celeste places a rune on ground. After a short period of time, it collapses, dealing crystal damage and stunning enemies for some time.

This ability is used mainly to stun enemies. You can deal very high damage when you use Core Collapse in conjunction with Heliogenesis: place a star with your A ability on an enemy, immediately use your B ability to stun the enemy and then place another star on top of the already existing one so it explodes. This is your main ability combo and it works wonders with an ally that has a stun too, Especially with this build, because you can also cast a lot of basic attacks while the enemy is stunned. You can also use Core Collapse when you get chased, so you can escape. I recommend not getting the overdrive in most situations. However, when you have the overdrive on Core Collapse you can get the stun back super fast.

Solar Storm

Celeste Fires a lead star and some trailing stars in the direction you tap. The lead star pierces through all targets, dealing crystal damage and the trailing stars explode on the first enemy they hit, also dealing crystal damage, but in an area.

This Ultimate is extremely powerful if all stars connect. It brings squishy characters's health down to less than half. Try using it in teamfights. It deals massive damage to the first enemy it hits and the trailing stars explode on the other heroes, dealing even more damage. You can also use Solar Storm to kill fleeing enemies that are low on health. I recommend getting the third upgrade in almost all situations. If you like having Core Collapse ready very fast, you can overdrive that.

Frostburn

Frostburn gives you pretty good crystal power and a passive slow on enemies. Use Frostburn to slow enemies down, so I can continually cast basic attacks on them. It also discourages enemies like Koshka to leap at you when you are close to a turret, because with the slow applied, Koshka can't escape as quickly, so she is easier for your teammates to kill. The slow is generally annoying for enemies and it works amazing during a chase.

Tips and Tricks Top

1: Follow up stuns from allies with Core Collapse. This way, you can get a lot of basic attacks flying around. Try to get Catherine on your team, Merciless Pursuit and Core Collapse is a deadly combo.

2: always be wary when putting stars in the bushes for vision, especially when you're alone. If you reveal a Taka or Krul, they usually immediately dive at you, resulting in your death.

3: Don't be afraid to take a hit from turrets in the late game. If you can get an ace by killing an enemy that is low on health behind a turret, go for the ace. You can often kill those enemies from long range with Solar Storm, or Heliogenesis when Solar Storm is on cooldown. Don't stay in for more than two hits though, you're still squishy.

4: When you want to kill an enemy laner that is low on health with Solar Storm, always aim from the sides. Trailing stars explode on the turret, but they don't actually deal damage. So aim from the sides, otherwise you will waste a lot of damage and might not even get the kill.

5: Always engage in a teamfight last. You should always be at a distance, and when it's 3vs2 in your teams favor, you can come closer to land your stun and unleash your basic attack stream. Before that, spam heliogenisis and zone the enemy team out.

6: Zone enemies with Heliogenesis. Enemies usually don't want to stay near a star, in fear of a supernova. Use Heliogenesis as a tool to force enemies into unfavorable positions. For example, when your team has to protect the gold mine, just lay down stars everywhere. The enemy heroes have to make a choice: just leave and let the other team have the gold, or try and steal the gold but risk getting aced. If they leave, you just did a good job discouraging the enemies from stealing your gold. If they do come near the stars that you have laid down around the pit, just let the stars explode on them. You can probably get some kills or even an ace if the enemy team isn't careful.

7: Don't use core collapse on minions. I see a lot of Celeste doing that and it's such a waste. You need to have Core Collapse ready at all times to get away from ganks or to lock down important targets.
