Itemization Top

Start with wp blade for extra damage. The book is for a bit of sustain against minion and poke damage.
First damage item should be spelt sword for the damage, cool down reduction and the energy, which wp kestrel really lacks. BP second unless really urgent need of something else (armor piercing, life steal, etc), for the longer battles, and your glimmer shots being able to poke easily and get stacks safely until having enough to be able to just run into them.
After the second wp item, I’d recommend to get tier 3 boots or at least 2, usually chargers for the cool down and energy, but in some certain situations journey boots are also ok. Reflex block usually really needed here, because with no defense if u get stoned or simmilar things, you’ll be most likely dead. After, just get either serpents or poisoned, bonesaw or tension, depending on the situation (enemy has lots of healing, lifesteal, a lot of armor, etc). After just finish your defense, or maybe if u prefer, after third wp item it’s also ok.
Feel free to include sorrowblade or tyrant’s monocle if you want to, tho the build would change, but it all depends on the situation.

Tips Top

Early, try to get poke damage from your glimmer shots. In case you didn’t know, the have basic attack effects, so tension bow is triggered. Be careful even if you get your opponent low, because kestrel has a really low health. Use ult as final blow in case of escaping enemies, low enemies across the map or helping your teammates. After that it’s just practicing your positioning.
Be careful with squishies, because they will wreck you. 1v1 is ok only if enemy low and u sure he/she has no chance to re-engage you, or if it’s someone like Celeste and you can evade the attacks.

I found this build really good, with high damage, good sustain and BP for extended battles, tho in short-mid duration ones it’s also really useful.
