Introduction Top

Hi everybody, I'm Peter "lookatme", the captain of Team SNOW. We'll take a look at the weapon power Ringo.

Ringo is one of the heroes who can heavily damage one target. When played skillfully, he can counter almost any enemy. His main power lays in mid-game, if Ringo gets enough farm, he'll build his Sorrowblade and Tyrant's Monocle, which allow him to seize advantage in a teamfight and keep it over time. Ringo is very dangerous, he is also easy to kill if he acts wrong in a teamfight or gets bad positioning. To play Ringo on high ranks, you must imagine the further actions by the enemy, to take those into account. For example, a Celeste or Glaive wants to stun you – you should be ready with a Reflex Block. If the enemy roamer is going to apply on you an Atlas Pauldron, you should block that, too. Ringo is completely dependent upon his attack speed (just as Krul or S.A.W.), so under the negative effect of the Atlas Pauldron he will be practically useless during 5 seconds of teamfight.

A good Ringo must stutter-step – tap alternately on the enemy, attacking him, and somewhere else. This allows you to ignore the useless last moments of attack animation, increasing practical attack speed by up to 18%. Also it gives you opportunity to change positioning between attacks (for example, retreat behind the roamer or approach the fleeing enemy, attacking at the same time). The more attack speed items you have, the faster you can stutter step, and you should do that even on the verge of death. If you seem to be dying, your teammates can save you with a Fountain of Renewal or something else. Teammates must protect Ringo as the strongest, but thinnest damage dealer, and he should never enter a bush first without vision there. He can be killed instantly, if he gets vulnerable positioning.

I'd advice you to complete the Ringo Gold Rush (it's in the "Training" menu), and never play ranked until you can get stable 3 stars. It's essential to farm well, because you need a lot of items as soon as possible.

Abilities Top

Double Down
Ringo's heroic perk is dealing a critical attack after killing any enemy, so you can harass you enemies on the lane. If there's dice in the lower left corner, you are going to deal a critical strike, you can hit the enemy laner after each minion killed by you, taking away a lot of his health.

Achilles Shot
When you see that the enemy is already well damaged, you can try killing him – slow him down by Achilles Shot, switch Twirling Silver on for increasing attack and move speed and start try killing him. The abilities take a lot of energy, so think twice before using any of them. A weapon power Ringo can't buy a Energy Battery for energy recharge, because he must spend all the gold on weapon items.

Twirling Silver
Before playing aggressively you should ensure that the enemies aren't going to visit their laner – either you have vision and see them somewhere far away or you can predict them attacking their back monsters or taking the gold mine. It is important for any laner – try to understand the enemies' moves, so that you can react with your tactics. It's not always possible to control the enemies' movement, but you should always try. At first you can keep in mind a simple rule – you can play aggressively, if you see the 2 enemies in the jungle. If they are nowhere to be seen, play passively, stay near your turret, so that you are harder to gank.

Hellfire Brew
Ringo's ultimate pierces all shield and deals true damage. It means that the enemy can buy 3 Aegises and 2 Fountain of Renewal, but the damage will stay the same. Ringo deals a lot more damage per second by hand than by ultimate, so you should cast it only in 3 ways:
1. Before a teamfight, to damage a group of enemies, and, most of all, to the thinnest carry (this is the usual way).
2. To kill a fleeing enemy. If the enemy hid behind his turret, you can try dealing him the last blow with the ultimate, standing just outside the range of the turret.
3. When you're Atlas Pauldroned (can be easily checked in the bottom left corner).
You must be careful when casting the ultimate, because Ringo is completely defenseless and immobile at that time. You should stay far from the enemies, and you need vision on them. When you choose the target (tap and hold the mini-map if the target is very far), you can start your ultimate at a great range, if it's too far, Ringo will approach the enemy by himself, and if you started casting already, the enemy can run however far, he won't escape the fireball. The ultimate can be blocked by a Reflex Block, it lessens the damage and prevents burning afterwards. You can see that you're the target of an ultimate, you'll have orange light under your hero. So you always have a chance to use the Reflex Block, even if Ringo uses his ultimate from the bushes.

Itembuilds Top

The best itembuild, in my opinion, is Sorrowblade, Tyrant's Monocle and Bonesaw (in this exact order). You can buy Blazing Salvo before a Tyrants Monocle, and than converted it to Bonesaw. Ringo must deal much damage, so don't be too keen on defense in early game. In parallel with those 3 weapon items, I usually buy Travel Boots and a Reflex Block, and shield and armor only much later.
