Threat Hero Notes
1
Ringo Ringo is easy to lane against. Since you have [[Barbed Needle]], you can easily heal back up from his poke. Wait for him to use up energy, then all in him.
1
Adagio CP Adagio is easy to beat. His A into ult combo is easy to escape with one use of [[Rose Offensive]]
2
  No Threat
3
Baron Baron is an easy opponent in lane. Just watch out for his [[Porcupine Mortar]] and stay aggressive, especially against CP.
3
Vox Vox is a easy opponent, as long as you avoid his Resonance. Even if Resonance is on you, you can easily heal back up with [[Serpent Mask]]
4
Samuel His kit is designed to (mostly) counter you with his insane CP damage and kiting ability. However, with your [[Rose Offensive]], you can reach him easily and focus him down.
4
Skaarf This depends on you. If you really aren't that good at dodging skill shots, Skaarf will destroy you with his [[Spitfire]]. But if you can dodge skillshots, you can easily engage Skaarf.
5
  No Threat
6
Celeste Celeste isn't that hard early game, but she can be real annoying late game due to her throwing stars everywhere. Build shield early to counter her early game CP, and ask for ganks
7
SAW Never try to solo a SAW unless you are ahead of him. Even if he uses [[Suppressing Fire]] he can still out trade you since you don't have any stuns in your kit. Ask for ganks early to get ahead of your opponent
8
  No Threat
9
  No Threat
10
Blackfeather Pure skill matchup, it just depends on who has better mechanics.
10
Skye Skye is the most mobile hero in all of Vainglory. She can dance around you and avoid all of your abilities(except A). And trying to attack a low health Skye while eating a [[Forward Barrage]] is the worth thing you can do.
10
Gwen The amount of poke she has is unbelivable. Not only that, but she easily escapes from you thanks to her [[Skedaddle]]. Play as safe as you can and build shield or armor accordingly. You destroy her late game, however.

Introduction Top

Hi, I'm WIzardOZ, A CTH player in Vainglory. When I go lane, Blackfeather is my go-to hero. Blackfeather is a bruiser champion when built WP, and he has lots of sustain and tankiness in teamfights, as well as a kit desined for chasing enemies accors long distances. It is my hope that with this guide you will improve your Blackfeather gameplay.

Abilities Top

Blackfeather has a lot of useful abilities in his kit.

PASSIVE: Heartthrob
Blackfeather's attacks and abilities apply Heartthrob stacks to enemies. This stacks twice on minions and monsters and up to five times on heroes and objectives. Any time stacks are added or refreshed, Blackfeather also deals 5-10 (+10% crystal power) crystal damage for each stacks of Heartthrob already on the target.

Instead of energy, Blackfeather uses focus for his abilities. This is capped at 100 and naturally regenerates 10 per second. Blackfeather also recovers an additional 10 focus for each basic attack he lands.

Hearthrob is used to build up for Blackfeather's A. Since it uses focus, not energy, you don't really need to worry about running out of energy.

A: Feint of Heart
Blackfeather lunges to his target and basic attacks them. For the next 4 seconds, the target leaves behind a rose trail that grants Blackfeather and his allies movement speed when moving through it.

When this ability is used against a target with full Heartthrob stacks (shown as broken hearts) it will execute the target for bonus true damage based on the target's missing health (capped against non-heroes).

Overdrive: The rose trail also makes Blackfeather and allies unslowable. Additionally, the cooldown for Feint of Heart is reset if the target is killed within 0.5 seconds.

This ability is useful during chases. It allows you to jump straight towards an enemy. However, I would suggest waiting until your Hearthrob has 5 stacks in order to get that super OP true damage burst.

B: On Point
Blackfeather pierces all enemies in a line, damaging them and applying a decaying slow for 1 second. The duration of the slow is increased by 0.3 seconds for each stack of Heartthrob on the target.

If this hits at least one enemy hero, Blackfeather also gains a barrier that scales with 10% of his bonus health and recovers 35 focus. The amount of focus recovered is further increased with 2% of his Max Energy and 50% of his Energy Regen.

Overdrive: On Point gains increased range.

This is your main poking/ farming ability. It allows you to deliver damage at a distance, matching most ranged laners. This is also a great initiator for teamfights since it slows enemies. Always overdrive this FIRST since the extra range is super useful.

C: Rose Offensive
Blackfeather cuts through his opponents, basic attacking all enemies along his path. During the dash, Blackfeather is immune to negative effects and has fortified health.

This ability has 2 charges

This ability is what makes Blackfeather a mobile bruiser. He can go through walls and chase effectively with this ability. Even better, IT HAS TWO CHARGES!!! Use it to run away from a teamfight, chase, or during a teamfight to deal damage in a line to all enemies.

Recent Updates Top

Feint of Heart

- Weapon scaling changed from 120-130-140-150-160% to 100% at all levels
- Execute damage changed from 10% + 8% WP of missing health as true damage to 12-15-18-21-24% + 18% WP of missing health as weapon damage.
Rose Offensive

- Rose Offensive fortifies 60-100-140 health during his dash
- No longer grants 100/200/300 armor/shield

Early Game Top

Blackfeather is a late game champion, so his early game isn't that good. Although On Point can be used to poke, it isn't that long range until you overdrive it. When playing someone with long range and poke, you want to stay near turret and let that help you farm.

Mid Game Top

Mid Game is where Blackfeather usually begins to shine. Once you have Serpent Mask and some tier two defense items with Blazing Salvo, you begin to pick up the sustain that you need. Shiversteel also lets you slow the enemies, making it easier to chase them.

Late Game (Final Builds, etc.) Top

Blackfeather is a MONSTER late game. He is super mobile and chases down anyone that tries to run. He is super good at focusing down one champion, such as their squishy Ringo. His Rose Offensive also allows him to dodge negative effects, such as a Hellfire Brew or Core Collapse.
