Vanguard can be used in many different ways to give you the advantage over the oppenent, im going to list off these ways as well as some tips to keep in mind.
Remember: Vanguard can be SELF CAST, meaning you can use it on yourself, but the movement speed and health buffs will be cut in half, but the damage and slow to enemies will remain the same
Remember: Vanguard can be used THROUGH WALLS if you have a teammate on the other side, this can be used for swift getaways.
Tip #1: You can use Vanguard on yourself to get a slight boost in speed to chase enemies or runaway.
Tip #2: If you and a teammate are chasing down an enemy, it is better to use Vanguard on your teammate because it will give them a greater barrier and a greater burst of movement speed than yourself
Tip #3: Use Vanguard ALOT. Because Ardan does not have energy, he can use Vanguard whenever you want, as long as its cooldown is ready. This is why Clockwork is so usefull on almost any Ardan build.
Tip #4: Use Vanguard defensivley. Because Vanguard gives you a small barrier, you can afford to get hit by a turret a few times, if you are running from a turret but it gets its last shot off that will kill you, the barrier Vanguard gives can save you and allow for a retreat.
Tip #5: Use Vanguard offensivley. When you use Vanguard a small shokwave emits from the target that damages and slows enemies, use this to your advantage. You can use this when a teammate is being chased to slow the chaser and to speed up your teammate. Vanguard is also great to use in battles because it does damage as well as help protect you.
Remember:you can use Blood for Blood through walls, this incentivises putting Scout Trap s near minion camps for swift getaways.
Remember: Blood for Blood resets Ardan s basic attack, use this to your advantage to get attacks in faster.
Remember: Gauntlet fully restores vengance allowing for another Blood for Blood use.
Remember: When a player with Vanguard is hit, including yourself, you recharge some vengance.
