Hello. My name is R2D2_FISH, and yesterday I shelled out 10 bucks for the first time to purchase Fortress. During my first few games I failed. The truth was, I didn't know how to play the character. Let me get straight to it: the recommended build is terrible. You do no damage, and honestly don't help your teammates much at all. Then I began experimenting with crystal builds. I thought of this build as a blend of tank, crystal, and support. You can even get to try out that cool new item! Hopefully using this build will make you not hate yourself for spending all of that money/glory on Fortress. With this build, I got 19/1/15 KDA ratio! Now let's get to it! Stop helping your teammates and start having some FUN. Remember, not every build will work for everyone, so if you like weapon Fortress, go ahead!
In order to use this build, you must jungle. It is a necessity. I recommend first going for a healer monster. While the regen works, attack more monsters. This way, you will have to TP home less. Do not try to gank before level 3, as you do not do enough damage. Trying to be a tank early game will get you killed. As you level up, you and (hopefully) your other jungler will advance into the enemy jungle. Here is where you must be very strategic. Stick near teammates to run faster. You are very good at scouting, especially after getting your ultimate. As soon as you see an enemy, mark them as prey. You will pounce at them, and allies will be sped up when chasing them. As soon as you make contact, use your second, in case he sneaks away, so he will take bleed damage. Fortress works best with Taka, Krul, Koshka, and the occasional jungling SAW. Do not let allies take all of your minion kills. Your second generally guarantees you the kill. After getting Clockwork, you will be much more valuable in teamfights. Aftershock is cool, because every time a little wolf attacks you get it. Pouncing and your second give you it too. Frostburn grants you the power of slowing down your opponents! Boots give you speed, but also give you some tankiness as well. Crucible helps you tank and save teammates. Contraption gives you free flares and mines! Yay! Remember about your pounce!
