Vanguard Top
Vanguard creates many effects when applied
1 - Grants the target a burst of move speed
2 - Does damage to nearby enemies
3 - Slows down nearby enemies
4 - Grants a 3 second barrier that scales with half of Ardan's health items + Vanguard's level barrier(1,2,3,4)
5 - Whenever attacking an enemy, every attack will make you gain Vengeance(Ardan's form of energy)
6 - Whenever being attacked, every hit will make you gain Vengeance
7 - When taking Vanguard's overdrive, upon usage you will gain 30% Vengeance
If used on yourself
8 - All buffs are half as strong -
Damage will stay the same
All forms of Vengeance gain are halved
Barrier's strength is halved
Overall using Vanguard on yourself is much less effective so don't be selfish
When to pick Ardan Top
After my experience with Ardan, I found out that he works at his full potential with specific heroes.
Taka - With Taka using his invisibility, you can Vanguard(A) in which I find is a great fight starter
Petal - [Before reading this, read the chapter about Vanguard(A) and it's uses] Every time Petal or one of her Munions attack, you'll gain Vengeance. This makes for multiple instantaneous Blood for Blood's(B) dealing great damage.
When to use this build Top
This is an amazing support build and in the right situations creates a guaranteed win. The only problem with this build is it's weakness, Aftershock.
If the enemy team has/will built/build two or more Aftershocks, this build is not recommended.
Which Items to get Top
Crucible is most useful when you have an ally that has a long Ultimate(C), such as Adagio and Skaarf since Stuns will be their main weakness.
Shiversteel is most useful with Heroes that slip away. If an ally is Krul or a Weapon Power SAW, Shiversteel is your best friend.
You won't always need a Metal Jacket so feel free to replace that.
Aftershock to my opinion is always a good item to get. If the enemy is building more health items, be sure to obtain Aftershock since it'll deal more damage.
If you find your allies dying quickly but you still want to be in the fight, build Breaking Point to deal more damage over time.
Clockwork is useful when you want to have your Vanguard and Ultimate up as quick as possible.
