SAW Saw is quite easy to beat if you know how to fight him. When he uses his spin up, run to the side to avoid most of the damage and use heliogenesis to damage him while is is locked in place. Don't get to close when in lane, or you will take a lot of damage.
3
Petal Petal is quite immobile without her jump due to her lack of cc. Just bully her in lane and kill her meeps to lessen her damage output. Also be sure to destroy any seeds before they can become a problem. Beware of Petal's ult, as it can 100-0 you really quickly.
3
Celeste This will mainly be a match of skill and whoever can land their heliogenisis the best.
4
Adagio Adagio can bully Celeste quite well in lane, with his self-buffs and healing. Just stay back and try to farm as well as possible while poking whenever there is an opening. Just remember to stay away from the enemy minions to avoid getting hit with the splash damage.
4
Fortress His ganks are very effective on you since he also gives a speed buff to his allies and allows them to quickly reach you and kills you. Put a scout trap in the bush to notify yourself if he is there.
4
Reim Celeste can out range and out dps Reim quite easily. But if you get rooted, you can get bursted down really easily. Dodge is ice spires and Valkyrie and you should be good.
4
Ringo Harass him as much as possible in the early game and deny him as much gold as possible. If you can shut him down early, he won't be as much of a threat in the late game. If he decides to go CP, buy a reflex block to cancel the burn damage from his ultimate. If you don't, the burn damage+the initial damage can bring you down to well below half health and take you out of a fight and force you to retreat.
4
Catherine Catherine can't do much to you unless she manages to stun or silence you. Just use Core Collapse in front of Catherine when she goes to stun you and use reflex block to block her silence. But if she gets to you in a team-fight, gg.
5
Joule This matchup and change whether this is lane joule or jungle joule, and also whether she is CP or WP. WP Joule will most likely be lane for duels. Just poke her and reflex block her jump if she ever jumps on you. CP Joule will most likely be Jungle for that burst damage and the ability to burst the carry and heavily damage the enemy with her ult. For lane Joule, harrass her with heliogenisises and watch out for ganks. If she lands her jump on you as you get ganked, that will mean instant death. For Jungle Joule, just watch out for her jumps and the Big Red Button.
5
Skaarf This will be similar to the Celeste matchup in terms of skill. The one with the better ability to land their skill shots. When you see Skarf charging her ult, place a Core Collapse under him to cancel the ult.
6
Ardan Ardan can be dangerous but can also be easy to play against. Be wary of his ult and buy an early reflex block when you hit 6. Ardan has a surprising amount of damage so don't fight him when he is in melee range. Reflex block of of his ult when he try to lock you in. Don't walk back into his ult after you reflex block out, as it is possible to get stunned multiple times on it.
6
Kestrel CP Kestrel is a lot like Celeste in that they both rely on rapidly hitting skill shots to do damage, an AOE stun and a gobal ult. If the opposing Kestrel goes CP, it will be match of skillshots. If the Kestrel goes WP, wait till the level 8 power-spike where you get your overdrive heliogenisis and start dealing heavy damage to her.
6
Glaive Glaive is dangerous to Celeste if he manages to Afterburn Celeste into his team. Just reflex block his Afterburn, kite him, stun him if he gets too close and you should be fine.
7
Skye This match-up can also vary based on whether the Skye is WP or CP. If the Skye is CP, then just watch out for the suri strike and her ult. Try to avoid the stun on Skye's ult and try to lock her down and burst her. If the Skye is WP, play safe in lane and focus on farming up to the late game. With Skye's heroic perk, where she gets a speed buff every time she auto-attacks, Skye is able to dodge a lot of Celeste's damage. Play safe in lane and try to lock her down and let your team kill her.
8
Vox Vox can be very dangerous to Celeste. With his low cooldown jumps, he can dodge most of Celeste's damage. His ult is also deadly to Celeste with it's massive silence and damage. Dodge his ult to avoid the silence and buy an early frostburn to slow him and land more skill shots.
8
Krul Krul is very dangerous to Celeste if he manages to get the jump on her. He can stick to her using his heroic passive and close the distance with his A. He can also stun you with his ult and burst you down with his smite. Make sure to stun him when he runs to you and reflex block his ult. In teamfights, stun him and use ult immediately to burst him down and kill him or else he will just keep life stealing and eventually kill your entire team.
8
Phinn Phinn is extremely dangerous to Celeste. Phinn's abilities allow him to pull Celeste away from the safety of the backlines and straight into his team. He also has an AOE stun and a massive slow. Buy a reflex block soon after you hit 6 to make sure you don't get drawn in.
9
Rona Rona can close the distance between herself and Celeste with her first two abilities and do massive damage to Celeste with her ult. Just try to stay behind your teammates and stun her if she gets too close.
9
Blackfeather Blackfeather is a very bursty type of hero. He can dodge over your stun with his ult and burst you down with his B. try to save your stun for after he uses his ult and run to your teammates. Unless you are fed and have a lot of items, you can't fight him. Try to punish him early game if he goes lane and dodge his B.
10
Koshka Koshka is extremely deadly to Celeste. Koshka has the ability to jump to Celesta from a long range. Koshka can also lock down Celeste for a long time with her ult. Utilizing her heroic perk, Koshka can dance around Celeste, dodging Celeste's heliogenises and dealing damage. The only advice I can give you is try to predict where she will run and stun her. Also to reflex block Koshka's ult.
10
Taka Taka is the hardest counter towards Celeste. He can jump on her and dodge her stun with his A. He can also go invisible and recover hp. The only tips I have on how to fight Taka, is to wait for Taka to flip over you before trying to stun. Also, since your auto-attacks reveal enemies, auto-attack between using heliogenisis to keep vision on Taka even when he uses his box.

Abilities Top

Heliogenisis

Heliogenesis is Celeste most important ability and what she is know for.
You should have this maxed by the time you get to level 8. The overdrived Heliogenesis gains massively increased range and damage and will help a lot with harassing enemy heroes and keeping distance between them and yourself.
Heliogenesis can also be used to gain vision in brushes and over walls.
Remember to proc the second Heliogenesis whenever an enemy hero walks over a Heliogenesis star.
You don't have to place the second Heliogenesis star exactly over the first one to proc the nova. The nova can be proced if you hit the second Heliogenesis just a bit next to the first.

One thing I do when playing Celeste, is to remember where is put all my Heliogenesis stars. This way, I don't have to hesitate where I should place another Heliogenesis to proc a nova. Another thing that should be noted, is that the nova hit box is larger than a regular Heliogenesis

Core Collapse

Core Collapse is an ability that stuns all enemy units in a set area.
Core Collapse is essential to Celeste kit because Celeste is so immobile and squishy. Core Collapse can be used to stop enemies from chasing you or your allies, stop fleeing targets, or to set up a huge Solar Storm
The timing to perfectly execute this ability is going to take some practice. There is a slight delay between the casting and the actual stun. Core Collapse can also be used to stop channels, such as Skaarf's Dragon Breath and Ringo's Hellfire Brew and Adagio's Verse of Judgement.

Solar Storm

Solar Storm is a huge burst move that can change the sway of a fight.
The stars of Solar Storm passes through enemy minions, non-objective jungle minions, and ally turrets. It's does 50% damage to non-heroes and none at all to enemy turrets, thought the turrets will still block some stars.
Solar Storm is a global ability so it can be used to snipe low-health enemy heroes and even the Kraken to turn a losing game, to a winning one.
One thing to remember however, is that the ult travels reallllly slowly, so try and predict where enemies will go before firing.

Items Top

Eve of Harvest

Eve of Harvest grants 10% crystal lifesteal 925% during first 600-1200 points of damage to enemy heroes depending on level). The item gives energy recharge which supplies you with energy and gives a decent amount of extra max energy and crystal power. With the unique passive, you have a higher change to survive in teamfights. Since the lifesteal is based on how much crystal damage you do, if you land a Heliogenesis nova in the middle of the enemy team, you can regain a lot of health. This is the top priority item that you would want to rush first.

Clockwork

Clockwork is a great item that gives you 250 extra max energy, +7.4 energy recharge and 50% more cooldown reduction. With Clockwork, the cooldown of Celeste's Heliogenesis is reduced to 0.9 seconds, Core Collapse is reduced to 12 seconds, and Solar Storm is reduced to 47 seconds (assuming you are level 12 and follow the ability leveling sequenced shown above). This should be you second completed item.

Frostburn

Frostburn is a great item in conjunction with an overdrive Heliogenesis. whenever you land an ability, you slow them for 10% plus 1% for every 10 CP you have (max of 35%). This slows allows you to kite enemy champions with ease and also helps with chasing fleeing targets.

Journey Boots

Boots are an important factor in this game, whether it's to get to a point on the map as quick as possible, to run away, or to chase. I would recommend buying boots on your first or second back, depending on how much gold you have. Boots should be your last item completed.

Broken Myth

Getting a Broken Myth can push your damage output further than what any other item can get you. For every second that you are battling an enemy hero, you gain 6% extra crystal damage (max 36%). This item also gives you an extra 70 crystal power and 10% shield pierce.

Aegis

Aegis is an item that gives you a lot of shield and a bit of armor and max health. The active can block up to 200 damage for 1.5 seconds. This active should almost always be used when you are about to be hit by any sort of cc, or debuff. For example, with this, you can block the burn damage from Ringo's Hellfire Brew. You can also walk past Ardan's Gauntlet if you manage to use the active right before you hit the wall of the ult. You should build this item when the enemy team has 2 or more enemies going crystal power, or if one of them is going crystal power but is a big threat.

Atlas Pauldron

Now, before you read this, you have to first consider many things. First, is the enemy team carry rely on attack speed and weapon power and is a melee (ex. Krul)? If not, then go down to Metal Jacket. If not, then continue reading. Atlas Paudron is a defensive item which gives you a good amount of armor and a bit of shield. Although the stats are a bit weak compared to the Metal Jacket, the active is where this item really shines. The active reduces the attack speed of nearby enemies by 65% for 5 second in a 4 meter range. This item is really good on melee heroes who depend on getting in your face and slashing your face off (*cough Krul *cough Rona). If the enemy team has someone like that, but is ranged like SAW, then you have to pray your roam isn't an idiot and will buy an Atlas Pauldron, because if you try to go in and activate the Pauldron as a squishy Celeste, you WILL DIE.

Metal Jacket

You're most likely reading this because Atlas Pauldron wasn't the item for you. Compared to the Atlas Pauldron, Metal Jacket has much more Armor and the same amount of shield. This should be build when facing enemies like SAW and Weapon Power Kestrel. Unfortunately, this item does not have an active or a passive so there isn't much to read. Therefore, I shall tell you a bit about myself. I am a psychotic sociopath who likes the taste of blood. Alright, next item!

Crucible

Crucible is a lot like the Aegis where it gives yourself a reflex block, however, for the Crucible, not only do you get the reflex block yourself, but you also give a reflex block to nearby teammates. Also, the strength of the barrier is different. Instead of blocking 200 damage of 1.5 seconds, the block blocks up to 25% of missing health damage for 1 second. Also, instead of gaining shield and a bit of armor and health, you instead get a lot of extra health, +600 to be exact. So, buy this item if the enemy team is lacking in crystal power, but you still need the crucible or the extra health. You should also buy this if the enemy has a widespread cc such as Catherine's Blast Tremor or Adagio's Verse of Judgement.

INFUSIONS

Infusions are very powerful boosts your power output, and increases your cooldown reduction and shield and armor. I highly recommend buying the crystal infusion when you have completed full build or when a major teamfight is approaching. If you have completed full build and have enough gold, buy both infusions, cause why not?

General Gameplay Top

At the start of the match, you should start off with an Energy Battery and two Halcyon Potions. The Energy Battery will keep your energy up during the laning phase. One mistake that I see rookies constantly doing, is never using their abilities to get the last hits on minions. Since Celeste has such a slow auto-attack animation, sometimes, it is best to use a Heliogenesis to make sure you get the last hit and the gold. Now I'm not saying to use your energy like nobodies business. What I'm saying, is to make use of that Energy Battery and secure some minion kills and poke the enemy a bit.

At your first back, make sure you have at least 1 Halcyon Potions and a Scout Trap. Yow will need the potion to recover a bit of health when you are low and for those clutch instant heals for when you're about to die. The Scout Trap is especially important. Since Celeste is so immobile, it is really easy to gank her. Therefore, you will need vision in the bush nearest to the enemy turret and if you have enough gold for another trap, place one in the bush nearest you turret as well. Remember that your Heliogenesis is like a Flare, so if an enemy shows him/herself in your lane, then goes back into the bush, plant a Heliogenesis in the bush to see if the hero is still there.

By the time you are level 8, you should have maxed your A and unlocked Overdrive Heliogenesis. This is Celeste gets her insane power spike, as many heroes do. The power-spike is explained at the Heliogenesis part of the "Abilities" chapter, if you want to read it again.

Whenever there is a teamfight, you should be at the edge of it, dealing massive damage with Heliogenesis and providing cc with your Core Collapse. Just remember that Core Collapse has a long cooldown, so you might want to use it for if you get jumped. If you do get jumped on by an enemy, and already used your Core Coallapse, run towards your teammates so that they can help you kill the enemy and make it a 3v2. Too many times have I seen squishy laners on my team run away in panic while I can do nothing as a Glaive with no Afterburn. Make sure to reflex block any cc that comes your way, because in the midst of a teamfight, even a second of being stunned can lead to more stuns then death.
