Ringo Hide in lane brush. Allow Carry to damage to at least half health, less if this hero builds shield, then X-retsu and Kaitan and get out quickly.
7
Rona Be very carful when engaging this heroine. If you decide to engage, make sure you have built substantial shield and/or armor, and that your team's Roam (Protector) is nearby. Your basic attacks (when doing WP) will be more efficient than your abilities with this Heroine.
7
Krul Another high-defense Jungler. When playing against this hero, watch to see if they build defense. If they do not, it will be easier to kill them, but absolutely do not engage this hero alone. See above, Rona.

9
Koshka Let Carry or Roam (Protector) damage to at least a third health. Hide, wait, or use Kaku to get close, then use Ult and A abilities to finish off. If you do not manage to kill her, use Travel- or Journey boots to escape. If this heroine uses her Ult, use reflex block or aegis to defend and escape.

Introduction Top

Taka is a great hero in the right hands.

But he is not for everyone. (If you are not new to this hero, you can skip this part). For people trying to find their "forte hero", this hero is good for those who enjoy good offensive stats (lethality), and do not mind low defense and low team utility. If you pick this hero, keep in mind that, while he can beat up any hero or heroine quite badly, doing this alone, and getting out alive will be a challenge. You may also want to keep in mind that this hero requires a good protector (Roam) to support him while he menaces the enemy Carry or Jungler and farms the Jungle. Overall, this hero is not a bad choice.

Have fun, good luck, more wins to you.

Build Orientation Top

When doing Taka Weapon Path, as this guide dictates, the starting items (the ones you buy first) should always be weapon power and attack speed.

The early game items should focus on weapon power and energy recharge. As you can see, I have an Energy Battery as an early game item. This is because, when you do early game farming, it is useful to have the use of your Kaitan(A) ability*.

At early to mid game, (about 7 minutes in) you should build some defense, preferably shield, in anticipation of Jungle clashes. You should also have Sorrowblade by about the 10 minute mark. If you have enough coin, you should also build Sprint Boots , to make a quick escape from any ambushes (see below, "Techniques").

At mid game (15 minutes in), you should have at least second tier defense and third tier weapon power and attack speed items. If the Enemy is aggressively building Crystal- or Weapon power, make upgrading Kinetic Shield to Aegis a priority.
Void Battery is useful, but if your level is high enough (level 10 or above) and if you have enough coin, you can sell that and replace it with Stormcrown .

At mid to late game (about 21 minutes in), you should have three third tier weapon items. Sprint Boots should be upgraded to travel boots , if not Journey Boots , and third tier defense is highly recommended.

Final Build is displayed above. See also "Tips and build alternatives" below.

*Note: It is a good idea to have a recharge item, I prefer Stormcrown, as it also helps with Jungle farming, but if the Enemy team is low defense overall (EX. Kestrel , Koshka and Adagio , focus on weapon items and leave the recharge item at Void Battery .

Techniques Top

1. Always keep in sight of your team's Protector (Roam). Taka is not a high-defense hero, and if you get ambushed alone, you will most likely not survive.

2. If you do get ambushed, the build I have set out above anticipates that. The Journey Boots will get you out of the Enemy hero pileup, but do not use them if you are inflicted with slow affects from Enemy hero's abilities. This will waste their duration. Wait until the slow affect wears off, or you leave the target area, then use the Journey Boots or use your Kaku(B) ability to get away.

3. Another item is useful in an ambush. Aegis . For instance, if you are ambushed by Koshka and she uses her Ult, a flying leap and multiple strikes which also stuns you, activate Aegis right before she leaps. This will cancel her Ult entirely. You can also use Aegis to block Ozos' Ult, Skyes' Ult, Joules' Ult, Ringos' Ult, etc. A useful thing to keep in mind is to not use Aegis too impulsively. Although its cooldown is not particularly long, it's best to use this in case of an ambush, or against Enemy hero's Ult abilities.

4. When scouting Jungle (Enemy or your own), if you are not sure if the Enemy is camping near the edge of a patch of brush, waiting to ambush you, use your Kaku(B) ability going into the brush. If you go into the brush and discover a ambush without being invisible, not only will the Enemy see you coming, but they will most likely use non-target-specific abilities(if applicable)(Ex. Skaarf's A Ability) on you, canceling your Kaku(B) ability if you use it to escape.

5. When playing with a low-defense Carry (such as Kestrel ), be mindful of the Lane situation. Use the Mini-map to see if your Carry is retreating, and to see how many and where the enemy minions are. If the enemy minions swarm your team's turret, go to the lane and at least check the situation. Placing a ? ping in the Lane to alert the Roam(protector) is also sometimes a good idea. Conversely, if your Carry appears to be turret-charging (rapidly clearing enemy minions and attacking the enemy turret), go to the Lane and assist.

6. If the Enemy is playing a "Lane Game" where all three of the Enemy heroes are in the Lane the majority of the time, farming in the Jungle is acceptable, but pay attention to the Mini-map (see above), and always respond to your allies pings.

7. If your two teammates are both in the re-spawn counter and the Enemy team starts capturing the Kraken, hide in the brush beside the Jungle shop (the Enemy usually throws flares toward the your team's Jungle), and when the Kraken is just about captured, use your Kaku(B) ability to get close, then use your X-Retsu(Ult) ability to attempt to get the last hit. This is in fact possible, I have done it before. Whatever you do, do not try to kill any of the Enemy heroes. This will end in you dying, your team aced, and the enemy team releasing the Kraken.

8. In a team fight (all six players in in the same place fighting each other), try not to dive completely into the Enemy pileup. This will get you killed very quickly, especially if the Enemy team has tanky heroes such as Catherine or Krul in the fight. Those two heroes I mentioned there also have stun effects, which are very bad for Taka . If you get hit with a stunning ability, wait until it wears off, then use Kaku(B) ability to escape. Additionally, if you are low on health during a team fight, walk innocuously away, letting the Enemy see you retreating, then use your Kaku(B) ability and make a looping path away from and back towards the fight, reappearing right next to an Enemy hero.

Basic fighting techniques for non-suicidal attacks* are: Dart in and out of the fight, hitting a specific hero a few basic hits (if you do WP) at a time. Also, and this is important, if an Enemy Hero is low on health and is retreating, do not follow behind the hero doing basic hits. This is because you have to stop walking to make a basic hit. Instead, walk alongside the Enemy Hero until you get even with them or pass them. Then attack them all out. Another technique is: hide in the nearby brush and finish off weakened heroes with your abilities (if you do CP, but this is also a good technique if you do WP and are low on health).

*Suicidal attacks are defined by chasing an Enemy hero behind the Enemy turret or crystal miner and finishing them off, then being killed by the aforementioned. These attacks are not recommended, because it is imperative that you do not die. With you, the assassin, in the re-spawn counter, your allies have a 30 percent higher chance of dying.

Conclusion: Stick together, keep your death count low and be tricky.

Team Building Top

From my experience, a good team to complement Taka is*:

Carry: Gwen Weapon Path,

OR

Carry: Ringo Weapon Path.*

Roam (protector): Lance Utility Path,

OR

Roam (protector): Phinn Utility Path.

*Kestrel Crystal Path, Skaarf Crystal Path and Celeste Crystal Path are also good Carry heroes, as the two I presented are both Weapon Path heroes, which would allow no Crystal Path player. The only reason I did not recommend these other Heroes is because they are low defense and require more skill. Taka should always be the weakest link, meaning that it is not recommended to have any Heroes that are much lower defense than Taka in the same team with him. Please feel free to use one of these Heroes as a team with Taka , they are also excellent picks, but be warned, it will be more difficult to survive in team fights.

Tips and build alternatives Top

The build I have set out is one of many. There are also alternatives, or subs for this build.
They are:

Sorrowblade switches with Tyrant's Monocle (for Blitz or Battle Royale as Carry assist for destroying turrets),(Two Sorrowblades ),

Bonesaw switches with Tyrant's Monocle , See Above,

Tyrant's Monocle switches with Tornado Trigger (two Tyrant's Monocles ), for more Enemy hero attacking,

If the Enemy builds third tier Armor, or you want more armor pierce, Tension Bow switches with Tornado Trigger .

If you are a extreme Weapon Path user, Tyrant's Monocle switches with Stormcrown , (Two Tyrant's Monocles ),

If the Enemy has no Crystal Path build, Metal Jacket switches with Aegis .

If your team has high-defense Roam (protector) and Carry (See above, Team Building), Metal Jacket can switch with Journey Boots (not recommended).
