1
Ringo Crucible/Vanguard on ult. Slow can really wreck you if you are by yourself, At level 4-5, you can fight him because he will have very less defence.
2
Celeste Celeste can be a little iffy if she stuns you. Time Crucible right if she uses B or ult. Ult can really do some damage to your teammates but not really you. =P Watch out for Broken Myth!
3
Adagio Watch out for CP Adagio's A and B, and ult stun. Time Crucible right if he uses ult.
3
Skaarf Crucible on ult. Broken Myth stacks will burn you but not very usual.
4
  No Threat
5
Rona Crucible on ult. Her ult can really hurt if all teammates are melee.
6
Skye Make sure she doesn't use her A to burst you and your teammates. Crucible A and ult. Watch out for Broken Myth, that can really kill you
6
Taka His mortal strike speed makes it very hard to get away, but he you get Contraption and bully him mid game, you are good
7
Glaive Hard to counter, Watch out for Breaking Point stacks.
7
Koshka She does not really do much AOE damage so you are fine. If she initiate using ult, Vanguard the teammate and target her first.
8
Krul If Krul gets BP, and your team does not get Atlas Pauldron, your whole team is dead. But if you follow my build and pull off the Atlas Pauldron before the fight, you should be fine. Also Shiversteel will make it hard to get away.
9
Joule Watch out for stun and Thunder Shock mid game if she goes WP. Very hard to counter.
9
Ardan You do not want to fight yourself... Other builds may contain BP so watch out for that. And try to Crucible if team wants to get out of Gauntlet. Try to make the best Venn Diagram ever (2 enemies inside, 1 outside, 1 ally/none outside, 2/3 allies inside).
10
Vox Vox can be deadly if he does too much AOE damage. Also watch out for the silence. Hard to counter.
10
Catherine Watch out for stun and silence. If she maxes ult and stun, that will hurt you because support relies on items and abilities. Hard to counter for me >.<

HELLO! I will show you all how to play the best Ardan ever. I do main Ardan so this is the build I use when I play Ardan, so you should trust this build with all your Dragonheart! The reason why I main Ardan? It's because everyone wants to instalock jungler/laner, so I cannot play as jungler/laner.

START (PICK ONE), JUNGLE CLEAR #1, #2 (READ BEFORE YOU MAKE THE MISTAKE!)(High elo only) Top

If you did not buy a contract, that is alright. However DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU DID NOT START WITH IT. It would be a waste of money and you would be behind. Just go straight for the Light Shield. If you bought a contract, go for Oakheart, then next jungle clear, go for Sprint Boots, then Light Shield, and so on.

Some Things I Would've Added But I Didn't Add Top

1. Instead of going for Oakheart if you got a contract, and the enemy jungler is going CP, I would've told the high elo players to go for Light Shield. I didn't do this because I would have to add another item group, and explain it and I don't even do that, because you usually don't get enough time to see the enemy's items unless you infer that the enemy jungle is going for CP.

2. Going Oakheart after you got an Oakheart. I usually do this but it may cause too much confusion and miscommunication towards the viewers. I do this for the extra Vanguard health barrier but you can also do this if the enemy jungle is going WP.

Everything in a Nutshell (TIPS) Top

Ardan

Attack Type: Melee
Position: Roam
Role: Protector

Hit Points (HP): 801 (+74) HP Regen: 3.39 (+0.35)
Energy Points (EP): N/A (+N/A) EP Regen: N/A (+N/A)
Weapon Damage: 80 (+5.5) Attack Speed: 1 (+0.033)
Armor: 30 (+6) Shield: 20 (+6)
Attack Range: 1.8 Move Speed: 3.3

Julia's Gift

Hero: Ardan | Slot: Heroic Perk

Ardan heals for 1% of his missing health every time he takes damage. The healing can never exceed 75% of the damage taken. Instead of energy, Ardan uses a yellow meter called Vengeance. Vengeance builds over time and can also be gained with basic attacks, critical strikes and abilities. Because Ardan has no energy, any bonus energy (5%) and energy regeneration (50%) are converted to crystal power.

Vanguard

Hero: Ardan | Slot: A | Cooldown: 13/13/13/13/13 | Energy Cost: 0/0/0/0/0

Ardan dashes to an ally, damaging and slowing nearby enemies while granting the target a burst of move speed and a 3-second barrier that scales with 15% of Ardan's bonus health. Any time the ally takes damage, Ardan gains vengeance. This ability can be used on Ardan, but the barrier, speed boost and vengeance gain is only half as strong. Overdrive: Vanguard grants 30% vengeance when cast on an ally.
DETAILS:
Damage: 50/100/150/200/250 (+1.2 Crystal)
Barrier: 50/80/110/140/170

Blood for Blood

Hero: Ardan | Slot: B | Cooldown: 20 | Energy Cost: 0/0/0/0/0

Ardan leaps forward and punches his target. This deals crystal as well as weapon damage (that can crit) and is treated like a basic attack. Blood for Blood can only be activated when Ardan has 100% vengeance and will consume all of it. Overdrive: Blood for Blood deals an additional 25% weapon and crystal damage.
DETAILS:
Damage: 30/70/110/150/190 (+0.7 Crystal)

Gauntlet

Hero: Ardan | Slot: C | Cooldown: 110/100/90 | Energy Cost 0/0/0

Ardan throws down the gauntlet, projecting a perimeter around the target area and gaining full vengeance. Enemies who cross the perimeter are stunned and take crystal damage. Successfully stunning an enemy grants Ardan vengeance. If Ardan leaves the perimeter it is immediately destroyed.
DETAILS:
Damage: 250/375/500 (+2.5 Crystal)
Stun Duration: 1.2/1.2/1.2
Duration: 4/6/8

1. Okay so first Vanguard is your main way to keep your team alive. Always Vanguard. If Vanguard is not up and one teammate is low, I will use Fountain of Renewal. Even though y
you say it's a waste, I just need my team to be alive.

2. When I have Contraption, I usually use at max 2 charges on Scout Traps and save 1 for Flare Gun. When you are that late of the game, you need the Flare Gun so the enemy does not gank you or attack.

3. If you have Bonesaw, you want to do as many basic attacks on the carry with the most armour. So your weapon powered carry will do more damage to him. Also if you are tri-queueing and with some sort of voice communication, you want to tell your weapon powered carry to attack that enemy.

4. Aftershock will proc with your Blood for Blood so you could smack them with a blue circle around your fist. Use Aftershock+ Blood for Blood combo for the enemy carry with the most health (if you know but if you don't know, just hit one of them :P).

5. When Starting a team fight, try to use Gauntlet to split 1 or 2 people inside and leave the rest outside. So the other enemy has to walk inside the Gauntlet and stun themselves, now the one inside is dead, you use Wartreads while they are stunned, and chase down enemy. Use Vanguard on carry to chase even further. Or Shiversteel if you have one.

6. If your Gauntlet is not up yet, and is very low, you could start the fight, and when the enemy team is low and running away, I like to estimate where my Gauntlet wall is going to be, and estimate how fast the enemy is going and where, and I land the Gauntlet just a little bit in front of me, then the enemy will run into the Gauntlet since the Gauntlet will be one centimetre away from enemy's face, getting stunned.

7. Use whatever items/abilities to keep yourself alive and getting an ace.

8. I haven't really explained Blood for Blood because it's the least valuable thing you have. Use Blood for Blood any time if it's finished it's finished it's cooldown for extra damage. I also use it to get closer to the enemy because it is a gap closer.

9. I get Crucible early so my Vanguard can have 25% of Crucible.

10. If you don't know how to Crucible, I then suggest you when you are in a teamfight, use both Fountain of Renewal and Crucible at the same time. It will negate some damage and your carries can heal up.

11. Also, skins help you win! =D

12. Feel free to change something in game if you feel like you have the need to. (ran out of colours so I bolded it instead)

That pretty much sums up my build! =D (ran out of colours so I bolded it instead)

Explanation On (Pick One) Top

Shiversteel

Category: Utility | Tier: 3 | Cost: 1550

Activate: For the next 4 (6 if you are melee) seconds, your basic attacks will slow the target by 40%. Slow lasts 1.2 seconds. (18s cooldown)
+500 Max Health
(Use this to slow fleeing enemies.)

I chose this item because if your struggling on very mobile heroes (for example, Skye and Koshka). But you can also pick up a Shiversteel if you want the extra health, which is what Ardan is made of (and a fist and Julia's Gift and punching and Gauntlet ._.)

Aftershock

Category: Ability | Tier: 3 | Cost: 2400

After using an ability, your next basic attack deals 15% of your target's max health as damage with +50% lifesteal. Max 400 damage vs non-heroes. 1.5 second cooldown.
+25% Cooldown Speed
+2.5 Energy Recharge
+35 Crystal Power
(Very effective against enemies with high health.)

I chose this item if you have enemies that have lots of health, an easy way to tell is to NOT do math, But to find if enemy carry (obviously you are supposed to hit carry, so roam doesn't count) has Crucible or Shiversteel or warhorn. Also I really like the cooldown acceleration on Aftershock so you can create more fights with Gauntlet. And Gauntlet usually gives you an advantage in the fight.

Bonesaw

Category: Weapon | Tier: 3 | Cost: 2700

On Hit: Your basic attacks shred 7% of the target's armor for 6 seconds. Max 7 stacks.
+30 Weapon Power
+50% Attack Speed
(Effective against turrets and enemies with high armor. Best if you or your team are already dealing lots of weapon damage.)

I chose this if your weapon-powered carry does a ton of damage, but doesn't have Bonesaw (dumb but if weapon-powered carry has Bonesaw, you can help shred some armour.) and suddenly, the 3 rivals buy Atlas Pauldron and Metal Jacket. Now you can shred some of that armour! :D

Stormcrown

Category: Utility | Tier: 3 | Cost: 2200

Passive: After using an ability, your next 4 basic attacks in the next 6 seconds deal 140 bonus true damage to non-heroes or 35 to heroes. Can only be refreshed once every 6 seconds.
+30% Cooldown Speed
+200 Energy
+5 Energy Recharge
+150 Health
(Substantially increases your damage to objectives.)

Buying this will help you do more damage and do damage through armor and shield. and has lots of good stats! Helps kill anything faster basically.

Contraption

Category: Utility | Tier: 3 | Cost: 2100

Active: Target yourself to place a Scout Trap. Target the ground farther away to fire a Flare. 5s cooldown. 3 charges max. 18s per charge.
+350 Health
+35% Cooldown Speed
+3 Energy Recharge
(A great way to save inventory space while still being able to control vision.)

I would buy this item for vision because vision is very important late game and in some cases, may cause the game to end. And you can save space and money from actual Flares and Scout Traps. And has great stats.

Ardan/Item Updates Top

Update 1.17: Killer Bunny Rona

Flare and Fountain of Renewal projectile speed is now faster! Easier to land Fountain of Renewal and Flare!
Lifespring has a new passive: After being out of combat with enemy heroes for 5 seconds, regenerate 2.5% of your missing health per second.

Update 1.18: Lance

Crystal Infusion and Weapon Infusions now only let you take one of them! Your choice! But I recommend Weapon Infusion almost every time.
Scout Traps now have a visual effect when being placed. Its not just a place on the ground, it looks cool and yeah...

Update 1.19: Lyra

New iems for roamers which made me redo almost the whole 3 guides I have!: Protector Contract, Dragonblood Contract, Stormcrown, War Treads, Flare Gun!
Protector Contract is one of the contracts which will give your ally a small health barrier.
Dragonblood Contract is one of the contracts which can be activated and once activated it can mark nearby enemies which slows them and takes more crystal damage.
Ironguard Contract got redone so now you don't need a contract for ambient gold and Ironguard Contract will heal you and your teammate if a minion is killed.
Stormguard Banner now makes you use an ability before you get the true damage. You get 6 basic attacks dealing 75 damage to non-heroes and 20 to heroes for 6 seconds. Not very good item this update. You need an Energy Battery to buy.
Stormcrown is a tier 3 version of Stormguard Banner which when you use an ability, it gives you 4 basic attacks in the next 6 seconds that deals 140 true damage to non-heroes and 35 to heroes. And it gives you cooldown speed, energy recharge, energy, and health. To buy, you need Stormguard Banner, and Chronograph.
War Treads is now the new Warhorn! In boot form! Nearby allies get to sprint for 2 seconds with a 60 second cooldown, with 0.4 movement speed, with 500 health, and no Stormguard Banner passive. To purchase, buy Travel Boots and Dragonheart.
Flare Gun is a new item which allows you to place unlitmited Flares every 18 seconds! Not very good against Takas because the cooldown is very long.
Contraption cooldown up from 3 to 5 seconds with 18 second cooldown each charge (3 charges max). No more health regeneration, Stormguard Banner passive, +35% cooldown speed, +3 energy recharge, and a new recipe.
Shiversteel now makes your basic attacks slow enemies, for 6 seconds, and every basic attacks slows for 1.2 seconds. And the cooldown down from 20 to 18.
Travel Boots passive movement speed fown from 0.45 to 0.4, bonus health down from 200 to 100, and no more health regeneration.
Chronograph's energy recharge per second up from 2.4 to 2.5.
Aftershock has the same thing as [[chronograph] (I got 2 more to go so I'm lazy deal with it).
Flare is renamed from Flare Gun
Ardan's basic attack damage down from 80-154 to 80-141
Gauntlet has now made itself so when the enemy's trying to dash through it, it will stop them (good thing because Glaive and Skye are so annoying). But the stun duration down from 1.2 seconds to 1 second (RIP). However crystal ratio is up from 250% to 350% (not very useful).

Update 1.20: Summer Party SAW

Vanguard got his ratio up by 10%! I say that's a massive increase and Ardan will be more meta this update than the last one.
Blood for Blood has gotten a bug fixed!
Stormguard Banner has returned to it's DPSness! Which is a better choice for Ardan than last update. So has Stormcrown.
Flare Gun now has 2 charges! Another buff for me :D
Contraption got his charge time up by 2 seconds, same thing as Flare Gun. and cooldown speed up by 5%.
All Protector Contract, Ironguard Contract, Dragonblood Contract got buffed! But I still don't use it.
Bonesaw's weapon power down from 30 to 15, armour shred changed from 7 stacks of 7% to 8 stacks of 6%, and duration of armour shred down from 6 to 3 seconds, then decay a stack every half-second. Looks like a nerf to me.

NO MORE UPDATES >:D
