Threat Hero Notes
1
Skaarf So squishy, so fun to kill. If you end up laning with Skaarf. Then your going to snowball hard if the enemy team doesn't help him. Just be careful of Spellfire.
1
Baron Baron is slow enough to easily kill provided you have your defense items.
2
Gwen Get close and Gwen is done for. So long as she doesn't burn you down in the first two seconds, your fine. Reflex block her stun.
2
Glaive Depending on his build. Burst is no threat to you at all (Gwen would be more dangerous). Sustain builds are a bit more dangerous though but still not major.
3
Taka Taka is more annoying than anything, he can't kill you and you can't kill him (unless you have vision).
3
Reza Reza is better vs squishy heroes so he not mush of a threat to Rona, but hes way too mobile to reliably kill.
4
SAW Saw is slow and thats what will kill him. Jump on him and Ult once you have enough Bloodrage, to stay alive.
5
Catherine Takes a good while to kill and her stun can kill you in a big fight, its single target so not too dangerous though.
5
Koshka Koshka is really good against you early game but no where near as bad late game. Survive until then and you'll be fine.
6
Celeste 1v1 easiest hero in the game to kill, slow and squishy. Team fight, her stun will kill you.
7
Grace That stun is killer if you don't see it coming. If you do then its rather easy to dodge. That's the only dangerous thing about her.
8
Ringo Gotta be careful with this one, Ringo is made to kite heroes like Rona. Either go all in or back off. Try not to chase him.
8
Kestrel Kestrel is good at getting away and then bursting someone down. Don't chase her if she gets away from you.
8
Flicker Of all the captains, I'd say Flicker is the most dangerous to Rona. The slow and roots aren't good for her.
9
Tony Tony's stuns and just pure damage really aren't good for Rona. He just takes way too long to kill if he is a captain and would be a hard fight if hes WP.
9
Skye Skye is a little too good at kiting you and you must be very carful with her. Shes very mobile and just won't stay still. Even if you get the drop on her, shes likely to get away if you don't got everything off cooldown.
10
Krul Krul and Reim are the only heros you won't beat in a fair one on one duel.
10
Reim Its best to not even try. So if you see them and they are coming for you, just run. It's easier that way.

Overview Top

Rona's WP build will should almost always include and along with the standard boots and defense item every hero should always have. Rona should have two defense items seeing how she's melee and almost always a target, at least in 5v5. You might prefer one defense item in 3v3 depending on the situation.

I believe that all of her items are things to keep her alive while does its job. Two of her abilities also help greatly with that but mainly to stay alive you need to be attacking and lifestealing. You also really need some sort of defenses, even and does a lot of work in the early game.

And so with that in mind, I build the core items, two defense items, boots, and . The reason for shiversteel might not be all what you think. It does gives a slow and that is one of the reasons I pick it because slows for Rona are very important, but also for the attack speed and health, because staying alive is the ultimate goal, not getting kills. And to stay alive you need to slow them down so that you can then repeatedly axe them in the face therefore healing. If they end up dying to keep you alive, then its their fault.

In truth you dont have to go , instead is you want more damage you could try or if your feeling crazy . If the 4-5 enemies have armor in 5v5 or 3 in 3v3, then its perfectly viable to use , though I seldom use it.

I talked before on two abilities that can keep you alive. The first one, is a bit obvious. The ability to jump out of harms way. But it can just as easily kill you, if your not careful. Don't jump on an enemy if you can't see the rest of his team on the map because you may be getting baited, if fact I can almost guarantee its a bait because even 2v1 can get a bit dicey for Rona unless you have the gold lead. Also remember that jumping on top of enemy heroes gives you a barrier. I've sometimes jumped straight up and back down in the same place in the middle of a team fight for that barrier but I would rather recommend saving for escaping a bad fight or chasing the fleeing enemy AFTER the fight is finished.

What I find most players forget is their ult , if your in a team fight and your not spinning a tornado of death, then your most likely dying or hiding behind the captain (which will kill you in the long run). 1v1 your ult does less damage than just hitting the guy, 5v5 however, your literally doing 5 times the damage (if the enemy team is stupid enough to clump together). And another big thing is that your free to move as you attack, no stutter stepping needed! But the BIGGEST reason for using is the enormous amount of healing and the barrier it provides. Do remember though that you are slower while spinning and people may get away.

TL:DR And so her build in my opinion, is made with the hope of staying alive long enough to then do serious amounts of damage with a fully powered . The best way to stay alive is use as it gives healing and a barrier.I choose for its health and attack speed as well as its slow.

Who To Kill And Who Not To Kill Top

The BIGGEST thing about playing Rona is learning who you can kill and how fast you can do it before the enemy team collapses on you. I've played a lot of Rona, you could say that she is my main. Because her build doesn't change often, what sets Rona players apart is their skill of course (though it's not very hard to play her) but mainly their knowledge of who they can kill.

Go through the threat meter and you'll find out what I think about each hero and how to best kill them.

Laning Top

This guide is more focused on laning Roan instead of jungling but everything here still applies to a jungler if you want to jungle with Rona.

To start, Rona does a lot of damage even without items. That makes her pretty good in the early game if you can manage to stick to a target. She has her first power spike at level 2, so make sure to take advantage of it with the right heroes. Key word there, the right heroes, don't try taking on Krul or Skye just yet.

As for items, rush but buy boots on your first trip back to base. If you never have to go back to base before finishing , then pat yourself on the back and buy the boots then. If your taking a bit too much damage then don't hesitate to buy light defense afterwards.

Rona is a lane bully, a lot of heroes just can't deal with her and that is how you will win. She is very good at pushing lanes. In my opinion, better than Saw (because she has an escape). If you need to clear minion waves quickly, use her ult and once you get to the turret, it will go down fast.
