Celeste Tension bow rush will secure an easy early game against celeste and with your high mobility she most likely will not be able to damage or stun you!
4
Joule If Joule doesnt build attack speed you can try to dodge her skills and stuns and it will be easy to kill/chase her.
4
Lyra Taka CAN be good against Lyra. Her B ability makes Taka like a sitting duck, but if its gone you have 30 second to kill her.
4
Lance I like Taka against Lance. It will be hard for him to hit you with abilities if you move wisely. Stick close to him and stack your Breaking Point.
4
Petal Petal is known for her long range but she is squishy. As Taka you can get to her easily and assasinate her quick!
4
Ringo Taka as a natural assasin is good against Ringo. But watch out that he doesnt kite you to death before you reach him! Get an Atlas and activate it on him when u are invisible so he cant block it. Easy kill!
4
SAW Saw is always in fear of a taka. It can come out of nowhere, Atlas him and he is useless. Get an early Atlas after your Tension Bow and kill him fast!
5
Blackfeather Normally Blackfeather is strong against taka but with this build you can kite and stack your breaking point on him because he wont be able to burst you down quick!
5
Kestrel Although Taka is stronger in the early game, a Kestrel wirh enough items is able to make herself invisibile every time you jump at her. Watch out for traps and tell ur support to get a lot of Flares!
5
Skaarf Taka is strong against skillshot carries.
5
Skye Taka is supposed to be a counter to skye. That is correct but in late game it is hard to kill her if she is fullbuild. Breaking point will help you in the late game and Tension Bow will secure the early Game!
6
Adagio Taka can chase good and Adagio cant escape but he can burst Taka down quick! Be smart and try to dodge the heal debuff with A,Reflex Block or invisibility.
6
Koshka Koshka is a strong assasin, and everything that burst Taka is good against Taka! Get early shield and kite her with Tension Bow.
6
Krul I like Taka against Krul. With an early Tension Bow you are able to burst/kite him. Just run away if you have too much stacks and reenter the fight when they are gone! Also get an early Atlas after your Tension Bow!!!
6
Vox At this Meta, Vox is a strong pick and it is hard for taka to kill him. Assasinate him quick or Atlas him when you are invisible! (WP Vox)
7
Rona Rona is another melee tank and everything that doesnt die quick is good against Taka! Tanky enemies are the reason for Breaking Point. Get it fast and build defense in addition!
8
Reim Taka vs Reim matchup is anoyying for both sides. It is hard for Reim to hit Taka with abilities and it is hard for taka to kill Reim because of his passive fortified health. Breaking Point helps you to kill him in the long run and also get a lot of shield!
9
Glaive A skilled Glaive is strong against taka because of his natural tankyness. A lot of Glaive players build an early Sorrowblade for burst which is good against Taka. Try to get an early Atlas Pauldron after your Tension Bow!

Introduction Top

Hey and Welcome to another G2 guide! Today it is about Taka, known as an Assasin but also strong as a frontliner if played correctly. This build is all about late game taka with Breaking Point and a lot of defenses. Use this build against tanky enemies and try to stack Breaking Point in teamfights.
Before we get to the tactics lets start with his abilities and perks first!

Abilities Top

House Kamuha Top

Takas heroic perk House Kamuha is the reason why this build works so good on him. Takas next basic attack every 5 seconds will have a bonus burst damage of 40 damage with a wp ratio of 25% and in addition gives him a speedboost for a short duration. But thats not all!

Everytime he does a basic attack or uses a skill, he also gets one stack of Ki (max 5) which reduces the Next basic attack bonus damage timer by 0,9 sec and gives him a 25% cooldown reduction on every skill per stack! The reason why this is so good with that build is that you dont need much damage to stack Breaking Point. You build Tension Bow to get a better early game and for the armor piercing. With the speed boost and the bonus damage it is so easy to stack Breaking Point and because you dont need more damage you can fully concentrate on defensive items after you got that. That makes taka a strong frontliner with small burst and hig damage output if the fight lasts long enough!

Kaiten Top

His first ability Kaiten is a very simple skill. Taka will jump over his target dealing damage to it AND is invulnerable for that duration. This ability is awesome for skilled Taka players. You can dodge Stuns, Slows or even just some burst damage if you time it right. This often helps you to escape out of sticky situations and allows you to get one more Breaking Point stack if uses on an enemy.

Kaku Top

Takas next ability Kaku is the core of his kiting potential. With this ability, Taka becomes invisible for 4 seconds and heals a little bit until he gets visible again. But keep in mind that Flares and Scouttraps may also detect you!
Use this ability to get away if enemies chase you or to stay at a teamfight when you are low health but able to finish enemies like a real Assasin!

X-Retsu Top

Takas Ultimate X-Retsu is a strong gap closer which helps you to stick on your targets and hunt them down. After a short delay, Taka jumps through his target and inflicts a Mortal Wound that decreases ALL healing effects by 50%. In addition the target suffers a small amount of damage for the next 3 seconds but this Bleeding is refreshed when Taka hits this enemy with a basic attack while it is active.

This ability gives Taka some extra gap closers and a healing debuff which makes it easier for you and your team to burst down one target. Also keep in mind that this ability gives you 3 Ki stacks!

Gameplay & Strategy Top

Early Game Top

Takas early game is very strong due to his heroic perk and invisibility/heal ability. Try to get the upperhand in the early game or steal some farm as a sneaky assasin. If you see a single target and you are sure there is no one arround go for it if you are confident that you can defeat it! Even though this build is for late game, i try to get a strong early game with triple Weapon Blade as the first shop items. After that directly build into a Tension Bow. If you completed that you can safely go for some defense. I also reccomend getting an early Swift Shooter for the perfect attack speed with 5 Ki stacks.

In almost every game your second item will be Atlas Pauldron. It helps you against your only weakness, which is melee wp tanks and it is almost impossible for them to block it if you use it while you are invisible. And also always keep in mind that you are still ment to be an assasin, so play like one! Kite immoblie tanky hereos so they slowly use their health and burst down squishy heroes like Celeste or Ringo.

Mid Game Top

The Mid Game is Takas only weak spot. Thats why i try to snowball the game in the early game to stay strong in the mid game. After your Tension Bow is completed you have 2-3 minutes where you are extremely strong, but after it, you need a second damage item to do more. Breaking Point should be your third item after Tension Bow and Atlas Pauldron, but consider a Reflex Block or some armor/shield if you need it!

Late Game Top

if you completed your Breaking Point you can fully concentrate on defenseive items and Infusions. In teamfights it is your job to make enemy carries useless with Atlas Pauldron and then stack ur Breaking Point while stacking try to watch at ur team and help them if they need your help. Try to survive as long as you can by kiting and stacking, the longer you survive, the better are your chances of winning the fight.

That is all to say about this build, the rest is purely practise and skill! Try it yourself because i think Taka is underrated right now and see what that build can do for you!

Heroes with and against Taka Top

Last but not least I want to talk about some combos and dangers for weapon power carry Taka:
Taka doesnt need much help from supporters because he is ment to he an Assasin but supporters like Ardan and Lance are vers strong in combination with this build to keep him alive in teamfights.

Do not pick Taka in a good Glaive player! Glaive is naturally a strong counter to Taka due to his tankyness so watch out and build a lot of defenses! Also watch out for Phinn, because his B ability is very anoying if it pulls you out of invisibility. In Addition he is ultra tanky which makes him a hard enemy for the early game.
